Day 01: Delhi

Arrive into Leh
Welcome to Vardhman's "Manali to Leh Jeep Safari"!
On arrival in Delhi, you will be met and transferred by Vardhman's representative
to your hotel. Relax for a while and later proceed for the sightseeing of
the City.
Visit Qutab Minar, Humayun's tomb, Lakshminarayan Temple, a modern Hindu Temple,
Parliament House, Government Secretarial Building and Connaught place, the
shopping centre of New Delhi.
Visit Red Fort, built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan, Jama Masjid, one
of the largest Mosque of India, Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana, the cremation sites
of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Also drive past Chandni Chowk, shopping
centre of Old Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi - Kullu - Manali
After a lesiurely breakfast transfer to Delhi airport to board flight
for Kullu. On arrival at Kullu airport you will be met and drive to Manali.
Arrive Manali and check into the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 03: Manali
After breakfast proceed on a city tour of Manali. Manali is a wonderful
place nestled in the midst of Himalayan ranges, although Manali is a well
know tourist destination and in the summer it is bustling with crowd, one
can still get away from the hustle and bustle by going to quite areas of Manali
like Vashisht. Visit the Doongari Devi, Rohtang Pass, Solang Valley, Hadimba
temple, Vashisht hot springs, Manu temple, Naggar.

Day 04: Manali -Rohtang Pass- Jispa
After breakfast begin our jeep safari to Jispa (3320 m). On the way we
stop at Rohtang Pass (3978 m) on one of the highest motorable roads in the
world. Also visit Dashohar Lake and Beas Kund and drive past the green meadow
at Keylong (3348 m).
Arrive at Jispa and stay overnight in tent.

Day 05: Jispa - Sarchu
After breakfast we leave for Sarchu on the border between Himachal Pradesh
and Jammu & Kashmir. Here you can see the nomadic Gaddi people and an
army outpost. On our way we stop at Barchala Pass (4891 m). At Barchala, which
means " a pass with cross roads," the roads from Ladakh, Zanskar,
Lahaul and Spiti intersect. Stay overnight at tent in Sarchu.

Day 06: Sarchu -Lachluang La - Pang
After breakfast leave for Pang. On the way we halt for stay at Lachluang
La (5079 m). We arrive at Pang in the evening and.

Day 07: Pang - Leh
After breakfast leave for Leh and drive though the vast Kyungshu Plains.
Visit the Kiang the Wild Ass of Ladakh on these plains. On the way visit Tangnangla
Pass (5500 m). This is one the highest passes to have a metalled road.
Arrive Leh by the late evening and check into your hotel for an overnight
stay.

Day 08: Leh
After breakfast leave for a tour of Shey, the summer palace of the royal
family of Ladakh. Also visit Thiksey and Hemis monasteries, where one can
see the Buddhist cultural heritage of Ladakh. Return to the hotel for an overnight
rest.
Shey Palace: Shey palace with its remarkable statue of Buddha and panoramic
views of Indus valley. Situated on a hillock 15 Kms upstream from Leh, it
was once the residence of the royal family. According to tradition, it was
the seat of power of the pre-Tibetan kinds. A 7.5 mts high copper statue of
Buddha, plated with gold and the largest of its kind, is installed here.
Hemis Gompa: This monastery is the best-known in Ladakh. Ladakh's largest
monastery. It contains a number of gold statues and Stupas decorated with
precious stones and a superb collection of Thankas, including one that is
the largest in existence. Hemis gompa is believed to have been established
in 1630 by Lama Tagstang Raspa and built by Palden Sara under the patronage
of King Sengge Namgyal on a site previously sanctified by the construction
of a cave hermitage dating from the 12th century. This monastery is the oldest
one in the area belonging to the Kargyu school. The Gompa is a unique example
of a monastic complex of this period which manifests in its structure the
geomantic principles which underlie religious constructions of this type.
After seeing the sights of the monastery leave for the Thiksey Monastery and
Shey Palace.
Thiksey Monastery: This is situated on a mountain from where you can see panoramic
views of the Indus Valley. Within the monastery you can see many beautiful
Buddhist artifacts. 19 Kms from Leh, spectacularly sited, Thiksey is one of
the largest and architecturally most impressive Gompas. There are several
temples in this Gompas, containing images, stupas and wall paintings of Buddha,
which are exquisite.

Day 09: Leh - Delhi
After breakfast you will transferred to the Leh airport to board the flight
to Delhi. Reach Delhi and transfer to Delhi International airport (by Shuttle
service available at the airport) to board the flight for your onward journey
to back home with sweet and pleasant memories of your "Manali to Leh
Jeep Safari" escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
