Day 01: Delhi - Leh
Transfer to Delhi airport (at your own) to catch flight to Leh

Arrive into Leh
Welcome to Vardhman's "Stok Kangri Expedition"!
On arrival in Leh, you will be met and transferred by Vardhman's representative
to your hotel. Full day rest to acclimatize yourself. Evening go for a brisk
walk to stretch your body.

Day 02: Leh-Visit the Famous Monasteries And Palaces
Morning after breakfast visit some of the most important monasteries,
Palaces and the Museum in Ladakh, which lie either side of the river Indus.
First visit Stok Palace that lies at the distance of 14 kms from Leh town.
It was built by King Tsespal Tundup Namgyal in the year 1825. The palace has
its museum, in which one can see precious ornaments, jewellery, weapons, scrolls
and many more interesting things from the royal family of Ladakh.
Continue drive for Shey Palace. It was once the summer palace of the first
king of Ladakh Lachen Palgigon and it was built in the 17th century by Deldan
Namgyal in memory of his father king Singge Namgial. It is popular for its
three-storey high copper-gilt statue, which is the largest in Asia. After
Shay continue drive to Thiksey and have a packed lunch at a cool place in
Thiksey. After lunch visit the Thiksey monastery that was build by Paldan
Sherap in 14th century. It looks like Potala palace in Tibet. Continue drive
to Hemis and visit to the oldest and the richest monastery in Ladakh - the
Hemis Gompa.

Day 03: Leh
Morning after breakfast proceed to visit Shanti Stupa, Sankar monastery
and Leh palace.
Shanti Stupa (Japanese Peace Pagoda) : Shanti Stupa/Japanese peace pagoda
is build by a Japanese religious organization headed by Head monk Nakamura
with the help from the organization and local people. It is situated at a
hill top in Cahngspa village providing a bird eye view of the Leh town and
the surrounding mountain peaks. Architecturally it has the Japanese touch
with small clean rooms on the side for mediators and the main Japanese shrine
at the entrance.
Sankar Gompa & Village : A relatively modern monastery, it is closely
associated with the Spituk monastery and served as the residence of the late
head priest-Kushak Bakula. A number of gold icons are to be found here.

Day 04: Leh - Stok-Mankarmo
Morning after early breakfast drive for Stok trekking point. Start trek
till Mankarmo which is about 4 to 5 hrs walk, packed lunch enroute.
Arrive at the campsite at early afternoon and check in for an overnight stay.
Overnight: Camp
Day 05: Mankarmo - Base Camp
Morning after breakfast start walking to the base camp which is 3 to 4
hrs walk. On arrival check into your camp. After lunch the professional mountain
guide will give a demonstration on rock-craft and the ice-craft.

Day 06: Base Camp - Summit (Stok Kangri - 6020 M)-Base Camp
After an early morning breakfast start walking for the summit it will
take 9 to 10 hrs to reach on the summit. Relax and take a breath on the top,
feel you are on the top of the world, and see the other majestic peaks of
the Karakoram Range. Start descent after half an hour on the top, reach to
the base camp within 2 to 3 hrs and check into your camp for an overnight
rest.

Day 07: Base Camp - Stok - Leh
Morning after breakfast start walking for Stok which is about 5 to 6 hrs
walking. On arrival at Stok, visit the king's palace and museum built by King
Tsespal Tundup Namgyal in the year 1825. The palace has its museum, in which
one can see the entire precious ornaments, jewellery, weapons, scrolls and
many more interesting things from the royal family of Ladakh.
After visiting the palace drive back to Leh. Arrive Leh and check into your
hotel. Late evening attend cultural dance program.

Day 08: Leh - Delhi
After breakfast you will transferred to the Leh airport to board the flight
to Delhi with sweet and pleasant memories of your "Stok Kangri Expedition"
escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
